APOSTLE'S MESSAGE

Date: March 6, 2022

To all the Saints of God,

Grace and peace be unto all the Saints of God around the World.  As this Coronavirus Pandemic continues, we are continually reminding the Saints of God that we are obeying the magistrates and following the guideline of the health and governmental authorities for the safety of all people.

Health authorities and governmental officials continue to strongly encourage people to wear face coverings in public gatherings and use social distancing, wash your hands, and get tested to help stop the spread of the Covid-19 virus.  In some places wearing face mask is mandatory in indoor public spaces.

We are continuing limited indoor, in-person services with face mask, social distancing, temperature checks and Covid-19 testing. We are also continuing online services through Zoom, Facebook, and YouTube.   In-person Baptism and prayer service are available by attending our local service on site, attending our services on Zoom, or emailing your request to:

info@ministersofjesuschrist.com or prayerrequest@ministersofjesuschrist.com.

As we obey the Magistrates, we have complete faith that God will continue to hear our prayers and provide a way for us through these uncertain times.

Romans 13:2-4 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

TITUS 3:1-2 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work, To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.

This week’s encouraging words of growth focuses on:

Mourning and weeping at the death of a Saint of God...

Mourning and Weeping for Sarah and burying her body...
GEN23:02 And Sarah died in Kirjatharba; the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan: and Abraham came to mourn for Sarah, and to weep for her. GEN23:03 And Abraham stood up from before his dead, and spake unto the sons of Heth, saying, GEN23:04 I am a stranger and a sojourner with you: give me a possession of a buryingplace with you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight. GEN23:05 And the children of Heth answered Abraham, saying unto him,  GEN23:06 Hear us, my lord: thou art a mighty prince among us: in the choice of our sepulchres bury thy dead;

Weeping at the death and burial of Stepen...
ACT8:02 And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.

Weeping at the news of death by sickness...
ISA38:01 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live. ISA38:02 Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the LORD,  ISA38:03 And said, Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

ISA38:04 Then came the word of the LORD to Isaiah, saying,  ISA38:05 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.

Weeping at the death of a Child...
MAR5:35 While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?  MAR5:36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe. MAR5:37 And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James. MAR5:38 And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly. MAR5:39 And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth. MAR5:40 And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying. MAR5:41 And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. MAR5:42 And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment. (see also Luke 8:51- 53)

Mourning and weeping at the death of the Lord Jesus Christ...
MAR16:09 Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. MAR16:10 And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept. MAR16:11 And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not.

The Lord Jesus Christ who is God Almighty wepted at the death of Lazarus...
JOH11:30 Now Jesus was not yet come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met him. JOH11:31 The Jews then which were with her in the house, and comforted her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up hastily and went out, followed her, saying, She goeth unto the grave to weep there. JOH11:32 Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. JOH11:33 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled, JOH11:34 And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see. JOH11:35 Jesus wept.

Weeping at the departing of Apostle Paul because the would see him no more...
ACT20:37 And they all wept sore, and fell on Paul’s neck, and kissed him,  ACT20:38 Sorrowing most of all for the words which he spake, that they should see his face no more. And they accompanied him unto the ship.

Weeping at the death of Tabitha...
ACT9:37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber. ACT9:38 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them. ACT9:39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them. ACT9:40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up. ACT9:41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive. ACT9:42 And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.

The People mourned for a period of time and ended.... seven days and sometimes as long as 70 days.  30 days is the custom we generally follow...

Numbers 20:29 And when all the congregation saw that Aaron was dead, they mourned for Aaron thirty days, even all the house of Israel.

Deuteronomy 34:8 And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days: so the days of weeping and mourning for Moses were ended.

Missionary Jeanafre Michelle Shipp

January 10, 1968 – February 22, 2022

Jeanafre Michelle Shipp was born January 10, 1968, in North Carolina to William Lester Shipp Jr. and Lovie C. Sales. From this matrimony, she became the sibling of William H. Shipp, Angelisa D. Shipp, Norman T. Shipp, and Barbara M. Shipp. She graduated from Robert B. Glenn High School in Kernersville, North Carolina in 1987.

In her early years, Jeanafre was baptized by immersion in water in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and received the gift of the Holy Ghost in the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith.

She has served faithfully in various auxiliaries of the church throughout her life. She served in the Missionaries, Praying Daughters, Women Ushers, and Musical groups that include the Church Choir. She assisted in transporting saints to church services. She also served as president of the Young Adult Missionaries and Women Ushers, and she was the Assistant Women Supervisor of the Sisters Department.

Jeanafre was known among her church family for her gifted skill in Sewing and she used this skill to assist in needs for the church. One of her projects was making Church robes, and she was an instructor for the Sisters Sewing Class.

Jeanafre married Curtis D. Smith and raised three sons in the Lord under the Biblical and Apostolic teachings. She continued in the Apostolic Truth which is the Apostle’s Doctrine after legal divorce occurred in her marriage. She leaves to mourn her passing these three sons: Minister Phillip Smith, Deacon Stephen Smith, and Minister Peter Smith. She also leaves to mourn three grandchildren, siblings, and a host of family members and friends.

May the Lord Bless you and Keep you and eternally hold you in the center of his will.

May he open your understanding that you will come to know that you must repent of your sins and be baptized by immersion in water in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins.

Then you must continue in prayer to God asking him for the Holy Ghost, calling on the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and waiting or tarrying until you receive the gift of the Holy Ghost with the sign following speaking with other tongues as the spirit gives you utterances.

Then you must leave the principles of the doctrine and go on to perfection overcoming the love of the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life.

Then you must continue steadfastly in the Apostle’s Doctrine remembering always that he that endures until the End, the same shall be saved.  In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ who is God Almighty. Amen

 With perfect love,

Apostle Dennis G. Smith

Currently the following groups are eligible for COVID vaccine and boosters in Georgia:

Everyone age 5 and older.  Note: Pfizer is the only COVID vaccine currently approved for children aged 5 and older. People younger than 18 years of age are not authorized to receive either the Moderna or Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines.

 ONGOING GUIDANCE for Red Zone

• Vaccination remains the most effective protection against COVID-19

• Practice social distancing

• Frequently wash hands

• Frequent cleaning of public and high touch areas

• Practice telework and staggered office schedules where feasible, with safety measures

• Non-essential City facilities may open to the public. Masking will be mandated for now and the number of persons indoors may be limited to avoid crowding

Social Distancing guidelines:

• Social distancing means staying away from close contact in public spaces. It includes actions like staying out of places where lots of people gather and maintaining distance — approximately 6 feet — from others.

• Social distancing also includes minimizing contact with people when possible, limiting nonessential travel, working from home, and skipping social gatherings.

• All people should practice social distancing — not just those who are seriously ill or at high risk.

• Social distancing is a proven way to slow the spread of pandemics.

When to Wear a Mask:

Those who are staying home and have no close contact with people who are infected with COIVID-19 do not need a mask most of the time. However, wearing a nonmedical or homemade mask may be helpful in certain situations or for certain populations. Wear a Mask when:

• Shopping at essential businesses, like grocery stores or pharmacies.

• While visiting your health care provider.

• Traveling on public transportation.

• Interacting with customers/clients at essential businesses.

• When feeling sick, coughing, or sneezing.

• In all public spaces indoors and outdoors.

Because homemade masks protect everyone else from the droplets created by the wearer, it is important that as many people as possible wear these masks when leaving their homes. This helps prevent those who may be infectious but are only mildly symptomatic or not symptomatic from spreading the virus to others in the community.

Everyone should remember the phrase: “My mask protects you; your mask protects me.” By increasing the overall number of people who are containing their coughs, sneezes, and other droplets, it will help us control the overall spread of the virus.
