To all the Saints
of God,
Grace and peace be unto all the Saints of God around the World. As this
Coronavirus Pandemic continues, we are continually reminding the Saints of God
that we are obeying the magistrates and following the guideline of the health
and governmental authorities for the safety of all people.
Health authorities and
governmental officials continue to strongly encourage people to wear face
coverings in public gatherings and use social distancing, wash your hands, and
get tested to help stop the spread of the Covid-19 virus. In
some places wearing face mask is mandatory in indoor public spaces.
We are increasing indoor, in-person services with face mask, social distancing,
temperature checks and Covid-19 testing. We are also continuing online services
through Zoom, Facebook, and YouTube. In-person Baptism and prayer service are
available by attending our local service on site, attending our services on Zoom
or emailing your request to:
info@ministersofjesuschrist.com or prayerrequest@ministersofjesuschrist.com.
As
we obey the Magistrates, we have complete faith that God will continue to hear
our prayers and provide a way for us through these uncertain times.
Romans 13:2-4
Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of
God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
TITUS 3:1-2 Put
them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to
be ready to every good work, To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but
gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
This
week’s encouraging words of growth focuses on:
I Shall Not Be
Moved From the Word of God (part 3)
By Apostle
Dennis G. Smith
I will not return to sinful ways, I will not reject the righteous way, I will not follow false doctrine, I will not follow a sinful crowd for recognition and acceptance. I will not conform to the sinful ways of the world, who are those who do not believe or teach the commandments of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, which is the Apostle’s Doctrine.
These are some of the affirmations that we must repeat in our mind each day to
avoid the backsliding ways of weak and sinful people who love the pleasure of
sin. The title statement can be seen as an affirmation of
determination to stay on board with the one and only plan of salvation while
walking among those who have turned away and have jumped overboard to be a part
of the world and the false teachings of false prophets who have started many
false churches and have deceived many people.
Backsliding, also known as falling away, means to reverts to
sinful or wrongdoing habits by turning from the word of God, turning from God to
pursue personal or popular desires or to follow sinful behavior of other worldly
people. Backsliding means to turn from the principle that gives an
individual salvation:
Romans 10:4 - 11 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them. But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Since you know that the wage of sin is death and that the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay for the sins of all believers, those who confess with their mouth that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sin and rose again for our justification then you know also that a return to practicing sinful ways is a rejection of the sacrificial death of the Lord Jesus Christ. In all simplicity it is a turn from the principle that brings salvation or a failure to repent and turn away from sinful conduct.
The Apostle’s Doctrine teaches that backsliding is a state
which any free-willed believer is capable of adopting especially when they are
misled by false prophets. The backslidden individual is in danger
of eventually going to Hell if one does not repent. This is
generally taught as Conditional security which is a rejection of the false
doctrine called Unconditional Eternal Security. It is completely
necessary that all Apostolic Christian Believers become familiar with these two
doctrines in order to avoid being deceived by false prophets. Apostles
Peter make the issue very clear by speaking of false prophets as dogs returned
to their own vomit who are the servants of corruption. As when
someone desires to eat the thing which was vomited up that was making their body
sick.
2Peter 2:20 - 22 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world
through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again
entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the
beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the
way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy
commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them
according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the
sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
In the parable of the Wasteful or Prodigal Son, the Lord Jesus Christ teaches
us of those who lost their way. But heaven will rejoice if they
repent. The parable of the Prodigal Son has become a
representation of a backslider who repented.
Luke 15:11 - 32 And he said, A certain man had two sons: And the
younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that
falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living. And not many
days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a
far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living. And when
he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be
in want. And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and
he sent him into his fields to feed swine. And he would fain have filled
his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him. And
when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have
bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go
to my father, and will say unto him, Father,
I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, And am no more
worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants. And he
arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father
saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. And
the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight,
and am no more worthy to be called thy son. But the father said to his
servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his
hand, and shoes on his feet: And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill
it; and let us eat, and be merry: For
this my son was dead, and is alive again; he
was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry. Now
his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he
heard musick and dancing. And he called one of the servants, and asked
what these things meant. And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and
thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and
sound. And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father
out, and intreated him. And he answering said to his father, Lo,
these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy
commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my
friends: But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy
living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf. And he said
unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine. It was
meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for
this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
In the story, a father has two sons. The younger son asks for
his portion of inheritance from his father, who grants his son's request. This
son, however, is prodigal wasteful and turns to sinful worldly living thus
spending his inheritance on worldly sinful living. Then a famines comes
into the land and now he lacks the money for basic living. As
consequence, he now must return home empty-handed and intend to beg his father
to accept him back as a servant. To the son's surprise, he is not scorned by his
father but is welcomed back with celebration and a welcoming celebration.
Envious, the older son refuses to participate in the festivities. The father
tells the older son: "you are ever with me, and all that I have is yours, but
thy younger brother was lost and now he is found." The
indication that the younger brother was dead or lost reveals the status of any
person who returns to sinful ways. This is the reason why the
understanding of the one and only Church of the Lord Jesus Christ is so
important because it is easy to be misled to repeating the ways of false
prophets who are not a part of the body of Christ who may persuade some people
to practice sinful ways for money, recognition and world living.
We continue with a Message from Apostle S. C. Johnson … “One Way to God, One
Church” ………
One Way to
God, One Church (part 3)
By Bishop S. C.
Johnson
“Acts 1:12 - "Then returned they from Jerusalem, from the
mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey. And when
they were come in, they went up into an upper room, Where abode both Peter, and
James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew,
James, the son of Alphæus, and Simon Zealots, and Judas the brother of James.
These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women,
and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with the brethren.
"Acts 2:I "And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were
all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as
of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon
each of them. And they were all filled With the Holy Ghost, and began to speak
with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance."
Listen, I am going to follow this up, I told you I am going to trail it. They obeyed and went to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey. I am going to show you how you get in this church that Isaiah talked about when he said all nations were going to flow unto it.
Here is the way you get into the church ... By obedience to what Jesus said, by repenting of your sins and “being baptized” in water in the name of Jesus Christ and receiving the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
If you do not get into this church, you are on the outside and on your way to
hell. I do not care what church you join; you are on your way to hell. This is
"The Church," Isaiah talked about and, "The Church," Jesus talked about.
They were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak
with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. They did not join a
church. I am going to show you that everyone must get into this church or go to
hell. EVERYBODY! EVERYBODY! EVERYBODY! You must come into this church and there
is no use arguing about it because you are in a hell-bound church.
There is only “One Church," and it started on the day of Pentecost. God set it up when he got here. He set it up with water and Spirit, and every one that gets in must get in by water and Spirit.
The water is, baptism in the
name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and the Spirit is the baptism of
the Holy Ghost speaking in other tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance. Until
you get that, you do not have the water and Spirit, you are not in the church.
You are on the outside. Hear me! I do not care if the false prophets get up and
preach something fancy before you, they are going to hell and “you too.”
What is the matter with this? This is all set-up and set
according to the bible. Why don't you want to get this? Please tell me! This is
Bible. It is according to the word of God. Why don't you want it? Why?' Because
you are a hypocrite.
Why doesn't your preacher preach it? He is a false prophet! He cannot bring in only some of the rules, for if he does, to hell he is going. Hear what the scriptures say:
"And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven." Acts 2:5.
Here we are at Jerusalem again, right back where it started. Jesus said, "And
that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all
nations beginning at Jerusalem."
Where was this taken place? This thing “was done” at Jerusalem
where the prophet said the church would start. Every nation under
heaven, that, got them all, didn't it?
In Acts 2:36 we read, "Therefore let
all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus whom
you have crucified, both Lord and Christ."
What did it say? "ALL THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL” I told you everyone
must come into this church. Everyone! Isaiah said, all nations were going to
flow into it. Into what? Into this church, and I am going to show you down the
line how you get into it.
Jesus said, “And that repentance and remission of sins should
be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem." Here it is
again. "All Nations." They have to” come to it. It began at
Jerusalem. Here we are at Jerusalem now, right here in Jerusalem
where the thing is going on. I have worked it down and have it
right here in Jerusalem.
What did it say? "Therefore, let all the house
of Israel know assuredly that God hath made that same Jesus whom you have
crucified, both Lord and Christ. Now when they heard this, they “were pricked”
in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the Apostles, Men, and
brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, “Repent and be baptized”
every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye
shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
It got everyone. It said every one of you “be baptized” in the name of Jesus Christ. There were dwelling there all nations. Jews out of every “nations under the heaven ... Jews.
It picked up the Gentiles later. The Lord told Cornelius to send for Peter and
when he would come, he would tell him what he ought to do. Acts
10:5-6.
What does the scripture say? “And be baptized every one of you
in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the
gift of the Holy Ghost for the promise is unto you and your children and to all
that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call."
Don't you see how far it is reaching? It is reaching out and
pulling everything into the church, everything it gets hold of. Every
nation under the sun is being pulled into this thing, right into this church. God
has called the whole earth.
David said, "The Mighty God, even our Lord”, hath spoken, and called the earth
from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof." Psalms
50:1.
Also, in Acts 2:39-40 we
read, “For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are
afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. And with many other words
did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward
generation. (The generation on their way to hell.) Then
they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were
added unto them about three thousand souls.”
The same day three thousand souls went into the Church. THE CHURCH. This church received members on the day of Pentecost at Jerusalem. Jesus Christ set it up and then he gave rules and orders that everyone must abide by. You can't go out there and start a church, if you do, it is hell-bound.
I told you everyone must come to this church. Everyone! Everyone
must come because this is, "THE CHURCH," that Jesus Christ set up and I am a
member in it, and he made me of reputation in this church.
I am a gospel inspector and if you are right and want to be right, you are not too haughty to humble yourself to come and let me know what you are preaching. If I pass it, it is all right and if I do not pass it, it is all wrong and hell bound. There is not a church set up in the world that can be right because this is “THE CHURCH” and was set up according to the scriptures.
When you come to me, I am going to examine you by the
scriptures and if you can stand the scripture test., you are in, “THE CHURCH”,
but if you cannot stand the scripture test, you are not in, “THE CHURCH.”
Paul tested them, didn’t he? He tested them with the bible, didn’t he? He tested John’s disciples. Didn’t he test them to see if they were in the Church? I am going to test you to see if you are in the church. If you are in, “THE CHURCH.” Then I am going to check up on you to see if you have all the rules.
Galatians 2:1-2 Then fourteen years after
I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas and took Titus with me also. And
I went up by revelation and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach
among the Gentiles, but privately to them which are among reputation, lest by
any means I should run, or had run, in vain. Galatians 2:9. And
when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that
was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the hands of fellowship….
I am going to show you that everyone must come into it. I
do not care if you are out there trying to preach what I preach to justify
yourself, you are going to hell just the same. You may say, I
preach the same thing you preach, but you are going to hell just the same, for
even if it were possible for you to do it, you just must come into, “THE
CHURCH.”
The church was started by Jesus Christ. After
you get in, you must walk, according to the rules that he gave to govern the
Church.
What did Paul do? He went up by revelation and
communicated to them the gospel which he preached among the Gentiles. Unto
whom? Unto them that were of reputation. Unto
Cephas, James, and John. He went up there to let them know what he
was preaching. He was not afraid to do it. You must
come on and throw your gospel down and let me examine it, and if you are all
right, I will give you the right hand of fellowship. You must come and get it. This
is bible. You can be haughty, but you are going to hell when you
ignore these rules and regulations.
Listen to what Paul said: If I had not gone up
and communicated unto them the gospel I preached, I should run, or had in vain.
What? All that you do out there, if you do not
come into, “THE CHURCH,” it is in vain and all you are going to do will be in
vain.
Pau said it was revealed unto him to go up. What
is the matter that it had not been revealed unto you to stand with the Whole
Truth? What is the matter with you? There is only
one church, and the bible says all nations are going to flow unto it. What
is the matter with you?
The reason it has not been revealed to you is because your
spirit is crooked. Did you hear what the scripture says? Your
running is in vain. Your running is in vain from the time you hear
me, it is absolutely in vain. Paul received the right-hand of
fellowship. That is what you must do. That is what
you must do! I do not care how great you call yourself; you must
come into this church and get the right hand of fellowship. If you
do not do it, you are running in vain. If you do not believe this,
the bible, you will not take this, but if you fear God and believe the bible, I
can see you coming. Everyone must come in. God set
it up. One Church for all nations and gave One Church the rules by which
everyone must walk, so then you must come in.
We will continue with these messages in part 4……….
May the Lord
Bless you and Keep you and eternally hold you in the center of his will, may he
open your understanding that you will come to know that you must repent of your
sins and be baptized by immersion in water in the Name of Jesus Christ for the
remission of your sins, then continue in prayer, tarrying until you receive the
gift of the Holy Ghost with the sign following speaking with other tongues as
the spirit gives you utterances. Then you must leave the principles of the
doctrine and go on to perfection overcoming the love of the world, the lust of
the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life and continue steadfastly
in the Apostle’s Doctrine remembering always that he that endures until the End,
the same shall be saved. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ who is God
Almighty. Amen
With perfect
love,
Apostle Dennis G.
Smith

Currently the
following groups are eligible for COVID vaccine in Georgia:
Everyone age 5 and older. Note: Pfizer is the only COVID vaccine currently
approved for children aged 5 and older. People younger than 18 years of age are
not authorized to receive either the Moderna or Johnson & Johnson COVID-19
vaccines.
ONGOING
GUIDANCE for Red Zone
• Vaccination
remains the most effective protection against COVID-19
• Practice social
distancing
• Frequently wash
hands
• Frequent
cleaning of public and high touch areas
• Practice
telework and staggered office schedules where feasible, with safety measures
• Non-essential
City facilities may open to the public. Masking will be mandated for now and the
number of persons indoors may be limited to avoid crowding
Social
Distancing guidelines:
• Social
distancing means staying away from close contact in public spaces. It includes
actions like staying out of places where lots of people gather and maintaining
distance — approximately 6 feet — from others.
• Social
distancing also includes minimizing contact with people when possible, limiting
nonessential travel, working from home, and skipping social gatherings.
• All people
should practice social distancing — not just those who are seriously ill or at
high risk.
• Social
distancing is a proven way to slow the spread of pandemics.
When to Wear a
Mask:
Those who are
staying home and have no close contact with people who are infected with
COIVID-19 do not need a mask most of the time. However, wearing a nonmedical or
homemade mask may be helpful in certain situations or for certain populations. Wear
a Mask when:
• Shopping at
essential businesses, like grocery stores or pharmacies.
• While visiting
your health care provider.
• Traveling on
public transportation.
• Interacting
with customers/clients at essential businesses.
• When feeling
sick, coughing, or sneezing.
• In all public
spaces indoors and outdoors.
Because homemade
masks protect everyone else from the droplets created by the wearer, it is
important that as many people as possible wear these masks when leaving their
homes. This helps prevent those who may be infectious but are only mildly
symptomatic or not symptomatic from spreading the virus to others in the
community.
Everyone should
remember the phrase: “My mask protects you; your mask protects me.” By
increasing the overall number of people who are containing their coughs,
sneezes, and other droplets, it will help us control the overall spread of the
virus.
