To all the
Saints of God,
Grace and peace be unto all the Saints of God around the World. As this
Coronavirus Pandemic reaches what health authorities are a lower level of
spread, we are continually reminding the Saints of God that we are obeying the
magistrates and following the guideline of the health and governmental
authorities for the safety of all people.
Health authorities and
governmental officials continue to strongly encourage people to wear face
coverings if you have health conditions which would weaken you immune system in
public gatherings and use social distancing, wash your hands, and get tested for
your own safety.
Wearing a face mask is no longer mandatory in in most indoor public spaces but
encourage depending on each individual choice.
We are open for indoor in-person services, but we recommend each individual
wear face mask, use social distancing, temperature checks, and Covid-19 testing
for individual health care. We are also continuing online services through Zoom,
Facebook, and YouTube. In-person Baptism and prayer service are available by
attending our local service on site, attending our services on Zoom, or emailing
your request to:
info@ministersofjesuschrist.com or prayerrequest@ministersofjesuschrist.com.
As
we obey the Magistrates, we have complete faith that God will continue to hear
our prayers and provide a way for us through these uncertain times.
Romans
13:2-4 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no
power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
TITUS 3:1-2 Put
them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to
be ready to every good work, To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but
gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
This week’s
encouraging words of growth focuses on:
These Signs
Shall Follow them that believe (part 2)
By Apostle Dennis G. Smith
Signs will
always follow those that believe, a true believe will produce good fruit. But
the results produced by a person who does not believe in the Lord Jesus Christ
will lead to their own condemnation. True belief in the Lord Jesus Christ will
produce obedience to his commandments. If a person says that they believe but
does not obey the commandments, they will not produce the fruit of a holy life.
We would
like to remind you that all must believe, repent, and be baptized in the Name of
Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost
speaking with other tongues as the Spirit of God gives you utterances which is
the new birth of water and of spirit to enter into the Kingdom of God and
become a member of His Church, The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ Assemblies of
the Apostolic Faith in this present dispensation of Grace which is also called
the Age of the Christian Church. Though we cannot see the actual rebirth of the
believing Saints of God, we can see the action of their belief in their obedient
to the command of the Lord Jesus Christ by being baptized in water in the Name
of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sin. And we can hear the sound of
speaking in tongue as the Spirit of God gives them utterances because these are
the result or signs that follow everyone that truly believes and obeys the word
of God in this present time according to the Lord God Jesus Christ himself.
We can see
the results of those that believed and followed the Lord Jesus Christ when he
walked on Earth in a flesh and blood body. After He was killed upon the cross
and they were weeping and mourning about the things that had been done to Him,
His disciples now had to hold on to their belief in the things that he had
taught and their faith to trust in what he had promised. And so they began act
upon what they remembered he had said.
Luke 23:47 - 54 Now
when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this
was a righteous man. Luke 23:48 And all the people that came together to that
sight, beholding the things which were done, smote their breasts, and
returned. Luke 23:49 And all his acquaintance, and the women that followed him
from Galilee, stood afar off, beholding these things. Luke 23:50 And, behold,
there was a man named Joseph, a counseller; and he was a good man, and a
just: Luke 23:51 (The same had not consented to the counsel and deed of them;)
he was of Arimathaea, a city of the Jews: who
also himself waited for the kingdom of God. Luke 23:52 This man went
unto Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Luke 23:53 And he took it down, and
wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein
never man before was laid. Luke 23:54 And that day was the preparation, and the
sabbath drew on.
So those that believed in Him removed His body from the cross and wrapped His
body with linen then placed His dead body in a burying place where no one had
been buried. Many will see this as an action of love, nevertheless all can
fully understand that we are moved by what we believe.
Because this day was the preparation for the Sabbath many links this to the 6th day
of the week called Friday and not to the High Sabbath days which would then link
it to the fifth day of the week called Thursday which also would fulfil the
scripture of three days and three nights in the heart of the Earth. The point
that we are making is, that they are acting on what they believe.
Luke 24:1 - 10 Now
upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the
sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with
them. Luke 24:2 And they found the stone rolled away from the
sepulchre. Luke 24:3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord
Jesus. Luke 24:4 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout,
behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: Luke 24:5 And as they were
afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek
ye the living among the dead? Luke 24:6 He
is not here, but is risen: remember
how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Luke 24:7 Saying, The Son of
man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the
third day rise again. Luke 24:8 And they remembered his words, Luke 24:9
And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and
to all the rest. Luke 24:10 It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the
mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things
unto the apostles.
It was the women who acted on their love and belief in Him, and they went to
the place where they had buried His body bringing spices that they had
prepared. And as a result of their actions and belief, they met two angels that
told them to remember what he taught you when He was alive, that He would rise
again!!! It was the women who told the Apostles that the Lord Jesus Christ had
risen from the dead as He had taught them, He would, but the Apostles did not
believe their words at the beginning even though they were taught the same thing
by the Lord God Jesus Christ himself. But something stirred up in Apostle Peter
and he went to the burying place to see for himself and found the body of Jesus
Christ not where they had buried him.
Luke 24:11 - 12 And
their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not. LUK24:12
Then arose Peter, and ran unto the sepulchre; and stooping down, he beheld the
linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that
which was come to pass.
But while the Apostles were in a state of doubt and not believing what the
women and others were testifying to them about the Lord rising from the dead,
the Lord Jesus Christ appeared unto two other disciples in another form on the
road and begin talking to them about the scriptures. And they asked him to
remain with them as they went to eat, then their eyes were opened so that they
could recognize him as he sat with them at the table breaking bread. And when
they recognized Him, He vanished out of their sight. This should be a good
example of a result of belief in that it can open the eyes of those who
could not recognize the blessings of God before they believed. The hymn song
titled, "Amazing Grace" says, “I once was lost, but now I’m found, was
blind, but now I see.”
Luke 24:29 - 33 But
they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the
day is far spent. And he went into tarry with them. Luke 24:30 And it came to
pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and
gave to them. Luke 24:31 And their eyes were
opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight. Luke 24:32
And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked
with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures? Luke 24:33 And
they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven.
Notice that when
the two disciple eyes were open, then they went to the remaining 11 Apostles to
inform them that he had risen from the dead. These proven results in the
bible should confirm to all people that signs will follow all who truly believe.
We can assure you that when you believe in the promises of God, you will produce
signs and results that will verify that you are a believer in the Lord Jesus
Christ. You will speak in other tongues as the Spirit of God gives you
utterances.
May the Lord
Bless you and Keep you and eternally hold you in the center of his will.
May he open
your understanding that you will come to know that you must repent of your sins
and be baptized by immersion in water in the Name of Jesus Christ for the
remission of your sins.
Then you must
continue in prayer to God asking him for the Holy Ghost, calling on the Name of
the Lord Jesus Christ and waiting or tarrying until you receive the gift of the
Holy Ghost with the sign following speaking with other tongues as the spirit
gives you utterances. This experience with God will endow you with power.
Then you must
leave the principles of the doctrine and go on to perfection overcoming the love
of the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life.
Then you must
continue steadfastly in the Apostle’s Doctrine, remembering always that he that
endures until the End, the same shall be saved. In the name of the Lord
Jesus Christ who is God Almighty. Amen
With perfect
love,
Apostle Dennis
G. Smith
