APOSTLE'S MESSAGE

Date: October 16, 2022
To all the Saints of God,
Grace and peace be unto all the Saints of God around the World.  As this Coronavirus Pandemic continues, we are continually reminding the Saints of God that we are obeying the magistrates and following the guideline of the health and governmental authorities for the safety of all people.

Health authorities and governmental officials are now advising people to wear face mask in public gatherings, use social distancing, and get vaccinated for your own health and safety from the Covid-19 virus.  In some places wearing face mask is no longer mandatory in indoor public spaces.

We are open for indoor in-person services with face mask, social distancing, temperature checks and Covid-19 testing. We are also continuing online services through Zoom, Facebook, and YouTube.   In-person Baptism and prayer service are available by attending our local service on site, attending our services on Zoom, or emailing your request to:

info@ministersofjesuschrist.com or prayerrequest@ministersofjesuschrist.com.

As we obey the Magistrates, we have complete faith that God will continue to hear our prayers and provide a way for us through these uncertain times.

Romans 13:2-4 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

TITUS 3:1-2 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work, To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.

This week’s encouraging words of growth focuses on:

The Lord God Jesus Christ is the Comforter, the Holy Ghost.
By Apostle Dennis G. Smith

John14:25 - 29 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.  Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.  And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.

When the Lord Jesus Christ spoke about going away, he was speaking of his physical bodily appearance which was known as the Son of God. His physical bodily appearance was changed from a natural bodily form into a glorified body form which would not be visible on the earth after His ascension until He returns in the second coming.

Nevertheless, He promised to comfort us and to continue to teach us.  He promised to continue to fellowship with us and give us peace so that our hearts would not be troubled by the things that happens in our daily lives.  He promised to be with us in Spiritual form which is the meaning of his saying, “I go to the Father”.  And since you will not be able to see Him in the physical visible form known as the Son of God, or the physical visible Glorified Bodily form, which is the Father in physical form, you will have to believe in Him and know Him in the Spiritual invisible form of the Holy Ghost which is the Father in his invisible form.  Though we cannot see the Holy Ghost, we can see and hear the actions and power that come from the Holy Ghost.

In other words, you will have to know him as the Father that has all power. When we understand this and know who God is, we are comforted in the receipt of the Holy Ghost and in receiving power to live a holy life.  We are comforted because we know that the One and Only God can reveal himself in different ways therefore, we are never alone.  We can declare as it is written lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

Psalms 94:16 - 19 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?  Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.  When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O LORD, held me up.  In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.

It was the Lord God that was the help of King David and in the comforting that he received from God his soul could be pleased. When we pray, we say, “Lord God Jesus Christ, Father we come to you in pray, giving you all the honor and all the glory, praising, and worshipping your Holy Name.  Hear my cry and attend unto my prayer.  We pray this way because we know who God is and we have continual fellowship with him. This brings us comfort and joy because we are secure in whatever matter or whatever condition we may face each day of our natural mortal life and this comforting from God pleases and satisfies our soul.

Psalms 61:1 - 4 Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer.  From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.  For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.  I will abide in thy tabernacle forever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.

If we are having difficulty understanding the issues and situations that we face in our daily life on our jobs, in our schools, in our homes or wherever we go, we can ask the Lord God Jesus Christ and he will give us the wisdom and understanding to work through each problem.  This in itself increases our confidence because we know that there is nothing to hard for our God.

James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Jeremiah 32:26 - 27 Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying, Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?

Someone may be overwhelmed with troubles, and it seems like it is impossible to overcome the conditions that you are faced with.  You may be in a war-torn country.  You may find yourself in a dire financial situation that seem impossible to overcome.  And then you remembrance that the Lord God Jesus Christ has said that he would be with you always.  This thought that focuses on the Lord Jesus Christ changes the situation in your mind because you know that what looks impossible for men is not impossible for God because all things are possible to him that believes in God because nothing is impossible for God.

Mark 10:26 - 27 And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?   And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

The Lord Jesus looked upon a man sick with paralysis or cerebral problems in controlling his muscles movement by todays terminology and when he saw their faith, he told the man to be of good cheer!!!  In other words, even in your sickness, the Lord God Jesus Christ is able to comfort you.

Matthew 9:2 And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.

Now I could go on in revealing the many ways in which the Lord God Jesus Christ will comfort all people that believe and obey His Word. But my goal is to encourage you and make all people notice that when you fully understand that the Lord God Jesus Christ is the Holy Ghost it changes your perspective in life because now you really can say, “Come into my heart and fill me with your Holy Spirit.” because you know that you shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come unto you.

Acts 2:33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

You can ask the Lord Jesus Christ for the gift of the Holy Ghost and if you believe, you will receive the Holy Ghost become the promise is unto you and unto all!!!  Apostle Peter declared that it was the Lord Jesus Christ that shed forth the Holy Ghost.

Acts 2:32 - 33 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

In simplicity the Lord God Jesus Christ is now with us in his Spiritual form comforting and keeping us as He promised he would!!

Luke11:11 - 13 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?  Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?  If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

May the Lord Bless you and Keep you and eternally hold you in the center of his will.
May he open your understanding that you will come to know that you must repent of your sins and be baptized by immersion in water in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins.

Then you must continue in prayer to God asking him for the Holy Ghost, calling on the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and waiting or tarrying until you receive the gift of the Holy Ghost with the sign following speaking with other tongues as the spirit gives you utterances.  This experience with God will endow you with power.

Then you must leave the principles of the doctrine and go on to perfection overcoming the love of the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life.

Then you must continue steadfastly in the Apostle’s Doctrine, remembering always that he that endures until the End, the same shall be saved.  In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ who is God Almighty. Amen

With perfect love,
Apostle Dennis G. Smith
