Date: December 5,
2021
To all the Saints
of God,
Grace and peace be unto all the Saints of God around the World. As this
Coronavirus Pandemic continues, we are continually reminding the Saints of God
that we are obeying the magistrates and following the guideline of the health
and governmental authorities for the safety of all people.
Health authorities and
governmental officials continue to strongly encourage people to wear face
coverings in public gatherings and use social distancing, wash your hands, and
get tested to help stop the spread of the Covid-19 virus. In
some places wearing face mask is mandatory in indoor public spaces.
We are continuing limited indoor, in-person services with face mask, social
distancing, temperature checks and Covid-19 testing. We are also continuing
online services through Zoom, Facebook, and YouTube. In-person Baptism and
prayer service are available by attending our local service on site, attending
our services on Zoom, or emailing your request to:
info@ministersofjesuschrist.com or prayerrequest@ministersofjesuschrist.com.
As
we obey the Magistrates, we have complete faith that God will continue to hear
our prayers and provide a way for us through these uncertain times.
Romans 13:2-4
Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of
God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
TITUS 3:1-2 Put
them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to
be ready to every good work, To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but
gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
This
week’s encouraging words of growth focuses on:
The Mountain
of the Lord’s House (part 2)
By Apostle
Dennis G. Smith
The mountain considered as "the mountain of the LORD'S house," may lead some to
think of the Physical temple in Jerusalem with all of its priestly services and
sacrifices. But Apostle Paul calls the House of God, the Church of the
Living God.
1Timothy 3:15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to
behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the
pillar and ground of the truth.
The requirements
for membership in the New Testament Church is obtaining salvation by repentance,
water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ, and being filled with the Holy Ghost,
then continuing steadfastly in the Apostle’s Doctrine and continuing fellowship
with all the Saints.
Acts
2:36 - 47 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath
made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Now when
they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to
the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter
said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus
Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy
Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are
afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. And with many
other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this
untoward generation. Then they that gladly received his word were baptized:
and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. And
they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in
breaking of bread, and in prayers. And fear came upon every soul: and many
wonders and signs were done by the apostles. And all that believed were
together, and had all things common; And sold their possessions and goods,
and parted them to all men, as every man had need. And they, continuing daily
with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat
their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having
favour with all the people. And
the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
This is the
entrance into the Kingdom of God by the New Birth of water and Spirit.
From this scripture we can all clearly see that the Kingdom of God is closely
related to the New Testament Church. The kingdom of God is also known as the
kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 3:1 - 3 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness
of Judaea, And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. For
this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one
crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths
straight.
Matthew 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
While it is true that the Jews expected an earthly kingdom to be established by
the Messiah, but the Lord Jesus Christ offered an immediate, spiritual kingdom
that provided forgiveness of sins and spiritual deliverance (Matthew
12:28; Mark 2:1-12).
Matthew 12:28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God,
then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
Luke
17:20 - 21 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God
should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with
observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the
kingdom of God is within you.
Once again, from these scriptures all can clearly see that the Kingdom of God
today is the reign of the Lord Jesus Christ in the hearts of people that believe
in the Lord Jesus Christ and are born again by the new birth of water and
Spirit. Let us repeat that the Kingdom of God is now in the hearts of those who
believes and obeys the commandments of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In the
Second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ and during the millennial reign of Jesus
Christ the King of kings shall be visible again in his glorified resurrected
Body.
The Church is the present manifestation of the Spiritual Kingdom or the rule of
Jesus Christ in this world today. During this period or the dispensation of
Grace, the Church is the visible form of the Kingdom of God in this world, and
as such is the salt of the earth and light of the world. And the King commanded
us to teach and baptize all nations.
Matthew 28:18 - 20 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is
given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching
them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with
you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Colossians 1:9 - 18 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not
cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge
of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy
of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing
in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious
power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto
the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the
saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath
translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we
have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is
the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by
him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible
and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or
powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all
things, and by him all things consist. And
he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the
firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
In Isaiah
2:2 "The mountain of the LORD'S house" and all nations flowing into it is
clearly seen in the Apostolic Christian Church during this dispensation of
Grace.. We all can see the fulfilling of this prophecy in the:
Great
Commission: After
His resurrection the Lord Jesus said that all power was in his hand, and
commissioned His apostles to go make disciples of all the nations as stated
before. Matthew
28:18 - 20 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto
me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching
them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with
you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
The Promise of
Power from the Holy Ghost to all believers: Acts
1:8 But
ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall
be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto
the uttermost part of the earth.
The Day of
Pentecost: Acts
2:1 And
when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one
place. ACT2:02 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing
mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. ACT2:03 And
there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of
them. ACT2:04 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak
with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. ACT2:05 And there were
dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
At Cornelius
House the gentile: Acts
10:34 - 35 Then
Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter
of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh
righteousness, is accepted with him.
The
Ethiopian: Acts 8:26
- 38 And
the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south
unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert. And he
arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority
under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure,
and had come to Jerusalem for to worship, Was returning, and sitting in his
chariot read Esaias the prophet. Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and
join thyself to this chariot. And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read
the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? And he said,
How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would
come up and sit with him. The place of the scripture which he read was this, He
was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so
opened he not his mouth: In his humiliation his judgment was taken away:
and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth. And
the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet
this? of himself, or of some other man? Then Philip opened his mouth, and
began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. And as they went
on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is
water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou
believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe
that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And he commanded the chariot to stand
still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and
he baptized him.
The city of
Samaria: ACTs
8:12 - 13 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning
the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were
baptized, both men and women. Then Simon himself believed also: and when he
was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and
signs which were done.
They were
called Christians: Acts
11:25 - 27 Then
departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul: And when he had found him,
he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they
assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the
disciples were called Christians first in Antioch. And in these days
came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch.
City of the
Living God, Church of the firstborn: Hebrews 12:22 -
24 But
ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the
heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, To the
general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven,
and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling,
that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
From these scriptures all should fully understand that the prophecy of Isaiah
2:1 - 5 about the Mountain of the Lord’s House is about the Spiritual Kingdom
of God or the Church which is the house of God. People from every nation who
believe are flowing into the house of God, which is governed by our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ the King of Kings. And when we submit to His
government, we learn to live peaceably with all men. We learn to love our
enemies, we do not need to lift up swords or weapons of war against people who
are now our Brethren in the Church who are from nations that were enemy nations
before they were born again by the new birth of water and spirit because the
Brethren have found peace through the blood of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
The enmity or hostility that resulted in conflict between them has been
abolished. This is the reason hostile, violent disagreements among Saints
is not expected because we suffer wrong rather than engage in unrighteous
conduct.
In the Church we should not need to learn war anymore. Our goal must
always be to look for a peaceful end to all conflict among the Church and with
all men in every nation throughout the world.
Hebrews
12:14 - 15 Follow
peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of
bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
We the Saints of God, are pressing towards the highest calling in the Mountain
of the Lord’s House achieving love and peace with all mankind…
Romans 12:17 - 20 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in
the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live
peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather
give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith
the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him
drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
We continue
with a Message from Apostle S. McDowell Shelton … "THE LORD'S HOUSE ESTABLISHED
IN THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN"
THE LORD'S
HOUSE ESTABLISHED IN THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN" (part 2)
By Bishop S.
McDowell Shelton
But continuing our original thought "And
it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house
shall be established in the top of the mountains and shall be exalted above the
hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. And many people shall go and say,
Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God
of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for
out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. And
he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall
beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation
shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore." (Isaiah
2:2-4)
In Acts the Second Chapter, while the people were gathered at Jerusalem for the
various feasts, they heard those gathered in the upper room speak with other
tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance:
"And
when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one
place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind,
and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto
them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were
all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the
Spirit gave them utterance. And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout
men, out of every nation under heaven. Now when this was noised abroad, the
multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them
speak in his own language. And they were all amazed and marveled, saying one to
another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galileans? And how hear we every
man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?" (Acts 2:1-8)
They were amazed, and others were in doubt and they said to one another "What
meaneth this?” And some mocked and others said they (those in the upper room)
were full of new wine, but Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his
voice and said—these are not drunk as you would suppose, but this is that
which was spoken of by the prophet Joel. In the last days, the Lord was
going to pour out His spirit upon all flesh. God was doing all of these things,
and Peter wanted them to know that God had made that same Jesus (whom they had
crucified) both Lord and Christ. This Jesus Christ of Nazareth was both human
and divine. The flesh part of him was of short duration, but that divine part of
Him was of everlasting. It was the Alpha, it was the Omega; it was the
beginning, it was the ending: it was the first, it was the last; it was the
"He-that-was", the "He-that-is", and the "He-that-is-to-come.” He was the
Almighty God! But that part of Him that was flesh was the lamb slain.
God knew it was going to come to pass that He was going to get a body, and that
it would be for a sacrifice. That is why when He said on the cross it is
finished— He meant just that! It was finished, for He doesn't lie. That was
the end of His sonship. We took on the sonship, the Church then became the
son. We are the son of God now.
The Scripture says in Acts the Second, “let
all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom
ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ." (Acts 2:36)
And do not be
confused when it mentions Christ sitting on the right hand of God. When you find
a spirit with a right hand, then we might understand where the right hand of God
is. But whenever God showed or manifested a right hand, He had to bring forth a
visualization of Himself, as He did with the Hebrew boys in the fiery furnace,
or when He would show Himself as an angel coming from heaven, or when He
wrestled with Jacob, or when Manoah saw Him and inquired after His name. He
visualized Himself for a time, but when that experience or occasion was over—He
would go back to spirit. But the first time He ever became flesh and blood was
when He was born of a virgin. However, God is a spirit! When you get confused
about your right and your left, how are you going to under-stand God's right and
left? All these things are figmentations of man's mind. They are a delusion.
Right and left, as far as man sees it, is a delusion. Right and left is just the
continuation of the other. All you must do is turn around and right becomes left
and left becomes right.
So, whenever you are reading the Scripture, you have to seek the Christ
mind. You have to do it by revelation, and you have to do it according to the
Scriptures. You cannot use your thoughts and your ways. If you do, you are
always going to be in conflict. You are always going to be confused. The
Scripture speaks about—’Then opened he their understanding, that they might
understand the Scriptures. (Luke 24:45)
And Peter,
through his preaching, opened their understanding. "Now
when they heard this, they were pricked in their and said unto Peter and to the
rest of the Apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto
them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for
the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." (Acts
2:38)
The
Word of God was going out from Jerusalem. The
Word of God was emanating from the top of the mountain, from a high and elevated
place. It was coming down from heaven! It was coming out of Jerusalem and is
referred to as being established in the top of the mountains, but the Scripture
also says it is a highway.
"And a highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be calm The way of
holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the
wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein." (Isaiah 35:8)
We do not have any kind of sympathy for people who write and tell us they are
trying to find the right church, and that they hear so many other churches and
they want to know what is right. The Bible says you shall know the truth! You
just shall know it, and it will make you free! If you will know of the doctrine,
you shall know of it. "And
ye shall know the truth, and truth shall make you free." (John 8:32)”
Also, the Holy Scriptures say — “And
when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow
him: for they know his voice. And a stranger will they not follow…."(John
10:4-5)
When
people must do all this fasting and praying and all of these other things in
order to find the truth—in most cases, somewhere along the way in some of their
fasting and praying they are going to go into another delusion. Whatever
religious organization they are in, they are going to find something wrong with
it and claim they see some other light.
Even if you fight the truth like Paul fought it, there is going to be something
inside of you that is going to give witness. Once Paul was knocked down, once
God spoke to him, there was no longer any resistance. Paul then asked — "Who
art thou, Lord?" (Acts 9:5) Paul
did his praying afterwards. The Bible speaks about him praying afterwards. Paul
might have kept some of the fasts under the law, he might have prayed whatever
form of prayer they prayed under the law, but after God spoke to him — there was
a change. God spoke to him and there was no resistance because Paul was honest.
So,
therefore, God has established His Church in the top of the mountain. And
everyone who wants to be a part of it must come up to it.
Folks used to talk about “I humbled myself down and got baptized." Don't do us
any favors! There might be fewer of us here in the area of Denver, but the last
census taken estimated that there were about five million of us (Apostolic
believers) in various parts of the world. (Today it is reported that the
number is above 14 million). However, wherever we are, we are just as
independent as we can be. We don't want anybody coming down to us! If you think
you have to come down to us, then keep on going down until you end up in hell!
Just by-pass us! But that is not where you will find us, for we are surely on
the top of the mountain.
If you felt that false religion you were in was so great, you should have stayed
there. If it is so great—go on back! We are not begging; neither do we need the
assistance of anyone. The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith
is independent! If you come and become one of the bodies and believe everything
and strive to practice all of it, then we thank God for you.
We were asked—if someone comes and gets baptized in the name of Jesus Christ in
this Church, but tells you they are going to go back to their church that does
not believe in the Apostolic Church and its doctrine, what should you do? Let
them go back to that false church and tell them you are very sorry that they do
not have a better understanding. You explain to them that the Apostolic Church
condemns everything that is not according to the Bible. We are not going to
strengthen the hands of evil doers. You tell them that when they are ready to
come and be saved —we will be here. The
Bible says to repent and be baptized. (See Acts 2:38)
And when somebody comes in the Apostolic Church and has really repented, they
are not going back to what they were doing. If they are going to go back, the
Bible says it would have been better if they had never started:
"For
if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of
the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and the
latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for
them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it,
to turn from the holy commandment de-livered unto them. But it happened unto
them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again;
and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire." (II Peter 2:22)
If they don't tell you that they are going back to their false doctrine, you go
ahead and baptize them, for the charge won't be laid on your account. But, for
example, if someone should ask you for a dollar and tell you that the dollar is
for some evil purpose (like buying a drink), you would be a partaker of his evil
deeds if you gave it to him. But if you give them a dollar and they don't tell
you what it is for until afterwards, then it is not laid to your charge.
Likewise, when we baptize folks, we baptize them for dying out to this world. We
bury them in baptism, that they will die out to all of the things which they
previously did. We baptize them that they might come out from their false
doctrine and inherit a new life. The Church is no "halfway" house. Here, you
must come all the way, or forget it! You must come and repent and be baptized in
the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins, that you
might receive the gift of the Holy Ghost — speaking in other tongues as the
Spirit gives you utterance.
Without this
new birth of the water and the Spirit—you are lost forever!!
Now may the Lord bless you. May the Lord keep you; May the Lord make His face to
shine upon you and be gracious unto you. May the Lord lift His countenance upon
you and give you peace. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, who is God
Almighty. Amen.
May the Lord
Bless you and Keep you and eternally hold you in the center of his will, may he
open your understanding that you will come to know that you must repent of your
sins and be baptized by immersion in water in the Name of Jesus Christ for the
remission of your sins, then continue in prayer, tarrying until you receive the
gift of the Holy Ghost with the sign following speaking with other tongues as
the spirit gives you utterances. Then you must leave the principles of the
doctrine and go on to perfection overcoming the love of the world, the lust of
the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life and continue steadfastly
in the Apostle’s Doctrine remembering always that he that endures until the End,
the same shall be saved. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ who is God
Almighty. Amen
With perfect
love,

Smith

Currently the
following groups are eligible for COVID vaccine in Georgia:
Everyone age 5 and older. Note: Pfizer is the only COVID vaccine currently
approved for children aged 5 and older. People younger than 18 years of age are
not authorized to receive either the Moderna or Johnson & Johnson COVID-19
vaccines.
ONGOING
GUIDANCE for Red Zone
• Vaccination
remains the most effective protection against COVID-19
• Practice social
distancing
• Frequently wash
hands
• Frequent
cleaning of public and high touch areas
• Practice
telework and staggered office schedules where feasible, with safety measures
• Non-essential
City facilities may open to the public. Masking will be mandated for now and the
number of persons indoors may be limited to avoid crowding
Social
Distancing guidelines:
• Social
distancing means staying away from close contact in public spaces. It includes
actions like staying out of places where lots of people gather and maintaining
distance — approximately 6 feet — from others.
• Social
distancing also includes minimizing contact with people when possible, limiting
nonessential travel, working from home, and skipping social gatherings.
• All people
should practice social distancing — not just those who are seriously ill or at
high risk.
• Social
distancing is a proven way to slow the spread of pandemics.
When to Wear a
Mask:
Those who are
staying home and have no close contact with people who are infected with
COIVID-19 do not need a mask most of the time. However, wearing a nonmedical or
homemade mask may be helpful in certain situations or for certain populations. Wear
a Mask when:
• Shopping at
essential businesses, like grocery stores or pharmacies.
• While visiting
your health care provider.
• Traveling on
public transportation.
• Interacting
with customers/clients at essential businesses.
• When feeling
sick, coughing, or sneezing.
• In all public
spaces indoors and outdoors.
Because homemade
masks protect everyone else from the droplets created by the wearer, it is
important that as many people as possible wear these masks when leaving their
homes. This helps prevent those who may be infectious but are only mildly
symptomatic or not symptomatic from spreading the virus to others in the
community.
Everyone should
remember the phrase: “My mask protects you; your mask protects me.” By
increasing the overall number of people who are containing their coughs,
sneezes, and other droplets, it will help us control the overall spread of the
virus.
